My creative process for writing books is simple: Sit down and trip out.
Where brand work has the energy of teams, writing books has the magic of dreams. Moving solo, following mysterious forces through my imagination, I’ve had creative experiences that redefine and expand my understanding of life.
None of that comes easy. Every book has been a battle. Sales are great, but just Finishing is winning. That victory gets addictive, as writing reveals layers of reality only experienced through the scribbling, dizzying business of authorship.
Books help me realize things I sense, crafting words to make them seen. Writing them helps me understand what I know, and maps out where I’ve been. Books let me call it like I see it. that freedom infuses my brand gigs, energizing the work with inspiration.
Teeth is my coming of age novel set in the 1990’s pop culture world.
It was a land of land lines, where the internet hadn’t highjacked our interactions. The freedom we had as artists to evolve and create let us grow in the shade. The process made my generation a little more critical and cryptic than following groups. They called us Gen X as if we were generic. Teeth shows a world that proves the opposite.
Chicken 65 is my Funniest book and the greatest writing Adventure of my life.
Outsourcing myself to Asia, I began the ultimate writing adventure. Beginning in the bowels of Bangkok, pressing forward to the mountains of Laos, cobbling concepts on the Cambodian coast, juggling with corporate work in Germany, further scribing in Paris, then seasoning to completion in a sleepy English seaside town, my crazy creative journey covered six countries and three years. Jumping borders and shifting passports, living by my wits and riding the wildest creative wave of my life, I authored my personally definitive literary work. Hilarious, insightful, and a great look at the harrowing possibilities that lie in wait for reckless expats, Chicken 65 runs fast and free, laughing all the way.
LIFTED is My smash hit reptillian overlord epic
A famous internet myth suggests that evil lizard people from another dimension rule our world. After my experience in the music industry, I decided that might not be a myth. Running with the premise, spinning fantasy lit into Gonzo terrain, I took a shot at our inter-dimensional overlords.
Set in New York City, tripping out into alternate dimensions, Lifted sifts through hyper-capitalism, narcissism, corporate sociopaths, mass media, drugs, spiritual warfare and other rotten parts of humanity. But rattling through these metaphysical trashcans, Lifted pulls fun, meaning, and inspiration from the abyss.
Of course, Lifted didn’t get published— nothing about the lizard people EVER gets published. That’s OK. Start your reptilian revolution and read Lifted today!
