My life as The 90’s Lit Kid was wild. I wrote my way through university, penning features for Rolling Stone, Wired and the Beastie Boy’s Grand RoyalMagazine.
Prior to social media, it was rare for a teenager to write words that were read by millions. Watching MTV for a week straight, raving about 90s New York City, writing the first major article about DJ culture, and flying around the world chasing stories, I had a blast.
That party didn’t last, as digital culture crashed journalism. But years later while living in Asia, I returned to the journo world and wrote for Newsweek. my final feature covered the 2014 coup d’etat in Thailand.
starting as a revolutionary Gen X voice, it seems fitting to finish my run with a real live revolution.
